Review: Time by Penny Reid

Time Time by Penny Reid
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a copy of this via the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Penny and team for providing me the opportunity to review the entire series.  This was released on April 15, 2019.  I was on vacation with my family in Washington D.C. when this popped up on my Kindle and I immediately dropped everything else I was reading to read this instead.  I wasn't disappointed.

This is the final installment of The Laws of Physics series, fans of Mona and Abram will not be disappointed. I really feel like they got the ending they needed. The heavy topics that needed to be disclosed and discussed between them before they could really and truly move forward with their relationship were finally put out into the open. I also give Marie and Gabby lots of kudos for making some of those conversations happen. Also Marie is my favorite character from Knitting in the City and she is a great big sister.

This particular installment is focused on the characters and the development of their relationship and both of them as individuals. This is not the angst ridden romance that some expected, but I'm OK with that. This was a much more realistic portrayal of a relationship where things are pretty good most of the time, but you still have to work through things all of the time to get your relationship to work. We don't all live in a fairytale, and neither do our characters. They both have baggage and they have to work thought it to make their relationship work for them. Penny tackles a ton of issues in this book and as always they are well written, respectful of the content, and well researched. Some of the issues discussed are sexual harassment of men by women, sexual harassment and assault of women by men, women having to work harder in science and math professions because they are women, neglectful parents and loved ones, dealing with your feelings, and I'm sure I'm missing some because this little book packed quite the punch.

If you have enjoyed the previous installments I recommend this one. I love Penny's books and that is no secret. I love that we get cameo's from characters from the other books. I'm still holding out that Penny will give us Allyn and Poe's stories at some point in the future.
