Sticking to the Script by Stella Weaver
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Ken and Steven are adorable.
If you've read Friends Without Benefits you might remember Doctor Ken Miles and if you've read the rest of the Knitting in the City series you'll recognize Steven. Everyone thinks Ken is pompous, rude, stuck up, and high strung. He is handsome and successful, and you really just need to get past his barriers and get to know the real Ken. Steven is quirky, funny, and has had a string of bad luck when it comes to dating. When they run into each other at a retirement party something sparks between them. When they keep running into each other Steven decides that the socially awkward Doctor needs a friend. Ken is attracted to Steven and decides to pursue him in a romantic manner. Their signals get mixed, but they eventually they get on the same page. While they are getting to know each other and figuring out their relationship, Ken has to deal with his family not accepting his bisexuality even though they are aware of it. Steven also has some drama brewing with one of his former failed flames who is sending him disturbing messages. This eventually leads to some stress and angst in their relationship.
This was a little more graphic when it comes to the sexy scenes than is my preference. If you like more descriptive scenes, this will be for you. Their story is so worth reading as they deal with real relationship problems from start to finish. The inner turmoil that each character goes through regarding their work, their family, their friends, and their relationship are things that each of us go through at some point. Plus their banter is amazing and they really are an adorable couple.
I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
