Review: Kiss Me Not by Emma Hart

Kiss Me Not Kiss Me Not by Emma Hart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.  This book will be released on August 27, 2019.

Emma Hart is a new to me author, but this will certainly not be my last book by her.  I love her writing style and her humor.  Her books remind me alot of some of my other favorite romance writers and I'm hooked after just one book.  I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series as they come out and check out her other books.

This was absolutely hilarious from about the 2nd page. This follows Halley Dawson, resident librarian, mayor's daughter, crazy raccoon lady, and reigning kissing booth champion. Every year the town of Creek Falls has a fair, and Halley raises money for charity by volunteering to kiss the locals and she always raises the most money each year. Determined to defend her title, she finds that her competition this year is her best friend's brother and her long time crush nemesis, Preston.

Halley and Preston each have a crush on each other but instead of letting each other know that they like one another, they snark at each other constantly and pretend that they can't stand one another. When they are forced to spend a week sitting next to each other in the kissing booth they finally start to get to know each other. Emma learns that Preston isn't the guy she thought he was, and Preston learns that he really enjoys Emma's brand of weird. They both have to get over themselves if they want to make things work between them, and watching them do so is pretty funny. Halley's best friends Ava and Reagan are hilarious as are some of the other side characters. I laughed throughout most of the book.

This is a really funny, hate to love (sort of) romance. It is a quick read and I found it hard to put down. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.
